need help...bent wheel

I've got a great set of Enkei RCT4 wheels (18x9.5 +30) but one of the rims got bent on a damn CA freeway pothole. I took it to a very reputable local wheel shop to be trued. They put it on their balancing machine and it wobbled like all hell. Unfortunately it's badly bent from the inside and therefore unrepairable. Will Enkei sell me one wheel? How do I get one? I probably shouldn't be surprised, but I'm not getting much help from the vendors I've contacted. Please help. My plan is to immediately sell these wheels to a friend of mine and put that money towards a new set of wheels for my '10 Evo X. Therefore if there is a vendor willing to put in the effort I'm loyal and will buy a full set of wheels from them. That's a promise!

I don't see why you couldn't buy just one. Somebody has got to help you out. Give Vivid Racing a call, ask for Mike, he can get anything.

Yeah don't see why you can't just buy one? Are they discontinued or something?

They are a JDM only model. It took a few months for them to come over on a crate when I bought them in 2008. They've never been listed on Enkei's USA website and I can't read their Japanese website.

Looks like they're still listed on the Enkei Japan website. Anybody know enough Japanese to determine what their customer service email address might be? This is a total nightmare. I'm exhibit A as to why buying JDM isn't always what it's cracked up to be.

Does that process involve removing the finish? I know that replicating the SBC finish (if it has to be removed for repairs) is next to impossible.

If they still sell them then you should be able to get them.. even though they're in japan. Most likely there won't be any returns. Since it'll be a hassle shipping back and forth by freight or crate bahhh...

anyways, you should contact them...

since enkeis are cast rebending the wheel straight requires low heat and can possibly be done without damaging the sbc paint.

just an fyi check with some other shops- sbc can be replicated.

I dont knwo if you would want to ship it all the way to Miami but a company called Turbax does incredible work, they matched my OEM diamond black BBS' finish perfectly when I chipped them and they fix bends etc...

It sounds like this bend is so severe the wheel is beyond repair. Maybe I'll get a 2nd opinion though from another shop. I'm talking with Enkei USA's head of sales right now and we're corresponding with Japan. Apparently I've purchased a set of "grey market wheels". Which just basically means Enkei USA didn't formally coordinate the shipment and the colors and sizes are specific to the Japanese market. The problem with that is the SBC finish with my +30 offset in 18x9.5 never officially was sold in the USA so half the battle has been proving their existence with pictures. I'll bump this thread with updates but I gotta be honest...JDM wheels are cool but I'm sticking to ones sold in the USA for the X. With California's crappy roads you never know when you'll need to replace one.
