I got a set of 4100 for my Evo 8 from GTWorx with Swift 9k fronts and 10k rears and the Vorshlag front camber plates. I absolutely love them, both on the street and auto-x course. I'll be doing my second auto-x race on these tomorrow, so hopefully I'll do a review soon. Just a little intimidated to do a write up on the AST's due to my novice driving experience. I was previously running Enduratech 7k fronts and 7k rears and it is a significant difference. First lap with the ASTs, the car had some oversteer which was a major change from what I was use to. I had to play with the pressures to make it a little more neutral. For custom valving and matching spring rates made by a respected suspension manufacturer for a little over $2000, I was sold. No regrets, they are worth every cent I paid GTWorx for them. Also the tech support from Myles and Andrew and the AST crew in TX is top notch (I called and emailed them constantly to get the optimal setup on the 4100s). Hope this helps!

How are they on the street? I know you said you're a novice, but please share any details of how they hold up on the street?

Thanks for the quick review, and look forward to hearing more details!

I would also be interested in hearing how they compare on the street since I have the Enduratech's right now

The ASTs are civil on the street when the dampening is turned all the way down. Once you have the rebound set to about 2-3 clicks will make the firmest ***** bounce and 5-6 clicks (auto-x mode) allows your back to feel every bump in the road. If this was my daily driver (its actually a Yaris) I wouldn't regret my choice of putting on a set of AST's. Honestly, was the Evo ever a comfortable ride? As for the comparison to the Enduratech's my suspensions doesn't bottom out on dips/bumps and make my tires rub on the fender liner. Hope this helps, let me know if you have anymore questions.

Anyone else?

I've got about a week left before I decide for sure what I'm going with.

It's currently between the AST 4100's

or the Ohlins Road and Tracks which are pushing the limits of my budget right now!

Just ordered my 4100's today with 12k/14K and Vorshlag hats front and rear. I'll be reporting once car and track season starts!

Nice!!

I'm leaning towards a 10kg/12kg setup as I still want the car to be streetable, yet perform at the autox/track.

I think I'm just going to go with the AST's. Not sure I can justify spending about 6-700 more for the Ohlins...

I was asking myself that same question are they really THAT good? Im sure they are but for my experience with road racing they might be overkill at this point. Although im sure its one of those things you can grow on (r-comps w/diff spring rates etc).

Trust me the Ohlins are REALLY that good. Factor in good camber plates/pillowball mounts and you really aren't that far off in pricing. Couple hundred at best. Not saying AST aren't comparable because they seem to be but Ohlins have well...quite the reputation and its a tried and true setup. I know I wouldn't give up mine for anything short of Moton Clubsports or JRZ's maybe.

I have factored in camber plates for the fronts, and there still is about a $600 plus difference. I wish I could ride on both sets before I buy.

This is what I was thinking. Spend the extra money now and not have to worry about changing them later on for something else. I dont think ill ever go as hardcore as Moton's or JRZ's nor do I think I could ever afford them but that would be nice down the road. Even at $600 more I think I still might go with them depending on where I am financially in a few months. Im one of those guys do it right, once (to an extent obviously).

I am looking into the 4100s also. Do the R&T come with camber plates? I would like to get mine ordered in the next week or so. I just need to figure out the spring rates kinda looking at 11k 13k. I wish more people had experience with these but I guess someone has to bite the bullet.
