Anyone considering winter snow tires and dont want to dish out on blizzaks (which r great though expensive) I just bought continental conti's snow tire 235-45's on the stock rims for $129 each which is exactly what I was looking for. Something to make it through the snow days, and today I put them thru the test, no excessive wheel spin, kick outs or hydroplaning. a pretty good tire for the money, for those who dont want to spend much just for the winter... thought this might help a few guys out there, drive safely if you havent gotten the chance to change them yet, cuz the stock tires really suck in the snow.. Good luck all.............
I just got the Conti Contact TS790's(235-45-17)and man.....I LOVE THESE TIRES in the snow! When it first started to snow yesterday, I took the EVO out for a spin.
BIG MISTAKE! I knew the stock tires were going to be bad, but NEVER could I have imagined it would have been THAT BAD! I couldnt steer, I couldnt brake, and I couldnt even accelerate safely.
Quick run to Mavis, and Im a happy camper.
Its certainly a night and day difference.
DA-4Banger: Are you Conti's the same exact tire as the ones I got?

I also bought the Conti's from tirerack (Thanks!). Haven't had a chance to put them through the snow yet, but they seem better than the stock Advan's in the rain.
I can skid them on on/off ramps, but I didn't expect them to be as good on dry pavement.

I got lucky, when I called Mavis by my house friday afternoon, and they happend to have the Conti's in stock. They also had the Blizzacks, but said that they recommend the Contis over the Blizzacks.
A friend of mine that goes by the name Loudogz on this site called up to get em yesterday, but they didnt have it in stock, so he had it ordered for monday.
I agree with DA-4Banga, these tires are GREAT!
