Tooling for bushing install?

I ordered a 12 ton press from Jegs. What tooling can I get to install the bushings?

I have a Master Kit from Energy Suspension, bumpsteer and roll center kits from whiteline to install.

I am most concered about the large bushing on the lower front control arm. It is like 3".

Bushing press sleeves. You'll want a bunch of sizes for all kinds of jobs that come up. Some solid metal to press the sleeves as well. Example:

Those are the exact suspension components I did this past March, btw.

for the whiteline bumpsteer kit, i just pressed the inner metal sleeve out with a 10mm socket and pressed the rubber bushing out with a 22 mm socket IIRC. Here's a good tutorial written by a former coworker of mine: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/5089500-post34.html

Tooling?

Bump. I don't want to take my car apart and not have the tooling to complete the work.

It's easy getting the OEM piece out but man what a PITA getting the ES piece in man. I got them in though eventually. I do remember a lot of cursing and lubrication. I just used various piping and blocks my buddy keeps around his press. A lot of times you need to make something and over the years piping and such build up around the press LOL

Go to the hardware store and buy different sized gas pipes. Thats what I used for most of my bushing removal. And block do help.

Would this help you:

I rented one from another local store once and it went up to a very large diameter, don't remember exactly what it was.

Advanced auto

I did loan a tool from Advanced. They carry a kit had had almost everything that I needed.

Did all the bushings except the front sway bar and mustache bar bushings.

Time was an issue and those did not seem worth the effort. If I am wrong please let me know and I will install them.

The car feels great now. A little rougher ride but worth it. The Whiteline parts do a great job reducing roll and bumpsteer.

I just used a threaded rod with some stacks of fender washers. Everything went together easy as pie

Just be careful when using the press and bushing. Sometimes, I have seen bushings and arms fly off a press when its not being used well.
