Wow, you were really flinging that thing around. Not too good for lap times but great car control. Any yes, hope to see you at Fontana soon

245/40r18 issues

Ok so I just came up on a set of RPF1’S and tire size is 245/40 wheel offset if +35 so I had picked up some 25mm spacers and ok cool clears the brembos but when I cant even make a 1/4 turn without the tires hitting inner fender car is on stock springs. I see a lot of ppl running 245/40 tires and having no issues from what they are saying unless car is lowered then they need fender work..can anyone help me on what would be a good near perfect tire size again wheels are RPF1S 18x9 +35 thanks.

Hello, yeah its that 40 series tire & the +35 wheel that is causing the issue. A 35 series tire may be needed. Its basically combining a relatively high offset wheel (+35) which is close to the stock +38 offset.

You should pull the wheel down & see exactly where the rub is. Its possible some heat gun work can solve this

But, keep in mind, running larger wheels / tires & front liner rub kinda goes w/the territory. We (those running aggressive setups) have all modified our liners

Any experience running Mustang wheels on Evos? I actually like the idea, I have kind of a USDM theme going with the ACD delete. These are 3lbs heavier than equivalent RPF1s. 22.1lbs for 18x10 +43. I wonder what the front brake clearance is like? I already got 20mm spacers and extended studs. I can't find a single Evo pic running these, I think they look great. I'm kinda chasing 90s split spoke BBS looks.

Haha there's also an 18x11 +52 option, with rear trailing arms and 5mm spacers? what if I could? Stock body? The weight isn't THAT bad. I'm guessing I would hit the frame with the front wheels while turning, here's my current setup in orange:

^^^
For sure a very nice looking wheel & if i didnt know you were running those rear RT arms, i would say no way (haha)

But, there is more to rear fitment than running those arms. A wheel of the 10.5 to 11" width will certainly start to invade on the front inner frame of the rear well.

Look at what RS Motors has done running the WiseFab rear suspenson & the wide 10.5" or 11" wheel w/the 315 tire (IIRC). They had to modify the front inner frame for fitment

you need +30mm spacers in front. in my opinion, better to get the rpf1 17x9 +22mm and 10mm spacers instead. the car will look more symmetrical and will use smaller spacers. Also, in the +22 option, maybe the brakes will clear with +5mm spacers but the way i saw it on my car, even with +10mm was a bit tight

Yeah, Nicolas is right. +45 is way inboard of an offset. Standard EvO wheel is +38.

A 30mm spacer is super big & most of us here dont like spacers over 20mm

Your best bet is to stay w/the proven RPF1 standard. 17x9.5 +38 w/a 20mm front spacer. This is one of the most commons RPF1 specs

They didnt happen to be SBC finish and in Socal? If so, I have a feeling its one of the sets sitting in my garage haha (not mine though). I test fit them on my Evo and like everyone else said, they dont fit without spacers.

RPF1 Fitment Question

Looking at buying a set of 17x9 +22 RPF1's wrapped in 255/40R17 Toyo R888's.

I have concerns about them fitting my car back home. I'm on stock struts and Eibach Lowering Springs, which drops the car around 1 -1.5" front and rear.

My questions are, would I need to roll the fenders?
Would it fit in the fender?
Would I need a spacer?
Concerns about rubbing during spring compression.

I'm a fan of having slight poke and a meaty setup, hence why I'm dropping my current RPF1's in 18x9.5 +15 for these. I can barely fit a 245 on them and not a fan of the stretch.

Heres a quick thread on the +22's to confirm the wheel spacer requirement

And yes, they will fit the rear wells providing you roll / pull & relocate the rear bumper bolt. Its a doable size for sure
