i guess im asking what size spacer would i need in the front to clear the brembos? and in the rear would it need to be pull even without spacers?

also how would a 17x9 + 40 fit?
thanks

Spacer size is not a science, so unless some other EvO owner has done this fitment, there is no way in knowing.
I run a similar size wheel as what youre noting (17x9 +29) which sits further inboard of your size but due to the spoke design, requires no spacer

A +40 wheel is out of spec for the EvO. The stock size is +38. Most high offset wheels dont have that concave look.
That +25 wheel will need a pull if you want them to fit correctly w/out rub

I have no experience w/them, but from other members comments they are a fine wheel. Not sure about their weight? I certainly like their wheel designs

I have 2 sets of wheels on the opposite of the perceived quality spectrum

1. Rota P45R 17x9.5 +30 which has turned out to be a great street wheel (a bit heavy)
2. Advan RGII 17x9 +29 which is a high quality light wheel for the track

Are your Rota wheels heavier than OEM IX BBS MR wheels?

Never done a comparison, but I imagine they would be heavier. Aren't the MR wheels forged? Not to mention the Rotas are 9.5" wide

Looks like that will work w/out a spacer per the comment in this thread

I'm narrowing down choices for 17's for my car and because I'm in Canada I'll be ordering online. More than likely they'll be from the US so confirming fitment is crucial as returns are really tough/expensive. This thread the the people that contribute are a huge asset, thank you.

I really don't want to roll/alter the fenders on my 2001 JDM EVO VII so fitment without modifications are crucial.

Great to see the Enkei RPF1 17x8.5 +30 with 235/45/17 will fit without any problems. These are probably my #1 choice.

I've seen mixed reviews on one of my other choices, Rota Grid's in 17x9 +25. Most run a 255 width tire though, I know it's a stretch, but I'm wondering if they'll fit with 235/45/17?

Lastly; I'm looking at Advanti Storm S1's in 17x9. They make a +30 and +35 both strong and lightweight at a good price point. I'd just like to confirm fitment and there's not much info? Again I'd be running 235/45/17 tires.

The EvO7 has the CT9A platform so:

The 17x9 +25 will definitely need a rear roll
The 17x9 +35 would be your best bet, based on your notes above (i.e. no rear roll)
The stock size 235/45 will certainly help eliminating the need to roll the rears
Front fit will be no problem on any of your scenarios except that a front spacer maybe needed on these wheels. No way to tell if a spacer is needed unless you have prior knowledge from others

Would like you to reconsider the rear roll. Its the only way to get a decent width tire in the rear.

You really should consider running a 255/40 tire

All the function guys that monitor the wheel threads will politely advise you to stay away from these low offset wheels

Try & stay within the +25 to +38 range (even +25's w/wide tires (255 & above) is tough to fit correctly

^^^18x9.5 +30 is a size similar to what I run. Lets say you run a 265/35 tire. This recipe will require a rear fender roll combined w/a slight pull.

Also, the bumper bolt will have to be relocated further back. Rear camber setting set at -1.8 degrees max

Please note: Front caliper fitment is unknown

I'm looking around at 18x10 +35 with a 275...I know these will require offset arms in the rear. Will these hit the strut in the front without a spacer? I know it has to be close.
