Help with Spring selection
I have a 2006 MR with the bilsteins of course. The car's suspension is stock currently. The car is a DD and will kind of serve an all around purpose. So I'm looking at just going with a lowering spring in the car rather than spring for the nice coilovers.
The car rides pretty nice as is, but it's a monster truck. I know I don't want to drop the car way down on to the bumpstops with something like the teins. I'm looking at the Swifts, Robi Specs, and GTworx. All these are MR specific springs from my understanding.
Which would be best? Keeping in mind the car will be a DD, will see some autocross here and there, and just some all around spirited driving around, occasional drag run. Really an all around type car. I would like it to be slightly lower but again now stupid low, I'm thinking roughly an inch? The front just looks so high!!!
Let me know your thoughts, your personal experience, hell even some pics. (I have been browsing thru pics all day) LOL
Thanks in advance!

i do not have experience with any of those springs or bilsteins for that matter.
but im pretty sure 99% of people would recommend the swift springs. those seem to be the most popular choice for all around performance.

All you listed are all great options. Just slightly different flavors.
Lower more, rate increases:
Swift Sports: Great all around DD some AX.
Swift SpecRs: Highest rates we have available. Still can DD, more for track days and heavy AX use.
Lower less, rate increase:
GTWorx: more strut stroke to use. Easy to drive. Great spring for all around.
RobiSpec: different approach on rates that above. Not 100% amount of ride change. One of the few springs I have not had the chance to drive.

Ive driven both Swifts (roommates IX) and GTworx (My IX), Never tried the spec-R's though. I like em both just about the same. My other buddy who drives both cars often likes the GTworx better.
Both cars are on Bilsteins, his has Whiteline F/R bars and I only have hotchkiss rear (bout to get whiteline front though)

Thanks for the input guys. I plan on probably doing a set of sway bars in the future as well. The main thing is I don't want to ride like **** and be stupid low. I'd also like to keep my bilsteins in tact.
I went from the hotchkiss springs which were on my car when I got it to the GTworx, and I couldnt be happier. They arent too stiff for a daily, but work amazing for getting more bite in the front.
IMO, I think they definitely need more front roll resistance from a bar but Im also use to a very stiff car.
In a couple months Ill do a more in-depth review of how they handle moderate autocross rubber (Hankook Z214 c71's in a 245) with just springs, bars, bushings, and camber plates. But that wont happen till we start having events here in march.

I'm probably leaning most towards the gtworx springs, They seem to be middle of the road as far as pricing between the 3 springs above and also don't drop the car on the ground.
Anyone else's thoughts???

Good choice for heavy winter areas if you are worried about going lower.
Terms of stiffness (OEM - Stiffest):
Stock, Robi, Sports, GTWorx, SpecR.

what about the tein s tech? ive heard good and bad things about those. i just want some springs to use with my stock struts on my evo8 that gets rid of the wheel gap but still drives/handles good. any suggestions?

If you want something to handle well then the 3 mentioned in this thread are pretty much your options. The Tein's have way to much drop in front and far to soft. Your spring rate will come from the bump stops since that's all you'll be riding on.

Yes as stated and the reason I'm not even considering the Tein are because it drops the car down to pretty much the bump stops and also kills the struts in a hurry. I'm not trying to destroy my bilsteins. I think I'm going to go with the gtworx. They seem to be the best compromise and wont hurt the car and it will look and perform better.

There are no good things about those springs.
Search and read.
