Brake Pad Help

Hello everyone, just have to pick your brains for a minute. I am going to be replacing all my rotors and brake pads in the next couple weeks and have read different stories on what to put on the back of the brake pad. I have seen people coat the whole pad (back with shim on) seen people put nothing, and some just put silver dollar size spots where the pistions would hit. Is there a right or wrong way on that?

Second, I also have seen people put a silicone based product on the back of the pad where some put the brake lubricant stuff on. So I am confused on that part. Normally, I could use a product like "brake quiet" or something like that, but since the Evo has such good brakes and they get very hot, I want something that isn't going to turn to goo when Im on the AutoX course, or even spirited driving.

I was considering suing this for a lubricant on the pad itself (back) and to put it on the back of the pad and shim. Would it be ok to use? If not any recommendations would be great. Thanks.

Ok to use this?

I only put brake grease on contact points.

The ends of the pad back plate where it hits the caliper. The piston 'ring' where it hits the pad although that gets squeezed out instantly so I'm not sure if it is needed there. I also make sure the pins are clean.

^^ +1

I also go through the bedding process every few months or so, that certainly keep the noise down to an acceptable level...

I have found that this lubricant is a ceramic base that can be used as a "brake quiet" as well as a lubricant. It may be applied to the rubber areas as well. It may be applied to the shim and the back of the pad as well as the pins and other areas to suppress noise. I think this Ceramic Brake Lube is the shizzle from what I have read and should withstand the temps that the OEM Brembos muster with no problem.

Is this the complete name:Permatex Ceramic Extreme Brake Parts Lubricant? What I read from Mitsubishi repair is Permatex Ceramic brake parts lubricant. Are the two different form each other? Also can this be used between anti-squeal plate and caliper pistons?
