Okay, so I'm gunna try and explain this the best I can so that it makes sense. As I mentioned in an earlier post, my brake/clutch fluid reservoir appears full from the outside, when in fact it is completely empty..... I don't know how or why this is, but it's NOT a stain from old fluid. If you shake the reservoir by hand, you can see the fluid sloshing around in there. It's as if you have a two semi transparent containers, and you put one inside the other. Then you fill the space between them with fluid. Looking from the outside, the container looks full of fluid, but if you look down inside, it's empty.

This whole time, I've been running circles around my car, going corner to corner wondering why I wasn't getting anything but a minimal amount of fluid, and a lot of air. The pedal was never getting stiff, and the fluid level in the reservoir never changed.

This has been interesting, and pretty embarrassing. I still don't know what's up with the reservoir, so if anyone has experienced anything similar, or knows anything about this, PM me. Thank you everyone for your help, comments, input, and knowledge. Pads and rotors are broke in and everything is good to go. No more issues. Thanks.

are you sure you're looking at the right part of the reservoir? there's a partition between the brake reservoir and the clutch reservoir, so one could have fluid and the other be empty. the clutch portion is in the rear toward the firewall.

I have to check my reading comprehension. Sorry.

Yes there are 2 halves to the reservoir, drivers side is for the clutch and you can see the hose going to the the other master on that side, the passengers side for the brakes. I've had a similar issue bleeding the clutch, fluid has to be at or above the full mark to flow across the divider. It all comes down to how you look at it, is it half empty or is it 1/2 mt?

You will have a big air gap with the new lines. You need to make sure you also turn the bleeder far enough. Ensure that the person helping you is pressurising the system FIRST by pumping the pedal. It may take several pumps of the pedal. Then bleed. Air will come out first, just keep doing it. It will work. You just may not be turniing the bleeder enough.

Good Luck

Jeff
