Curious to know if you guy's check this

This morning I came to pick up my Nitto Invos I ordered locally, and checked the manufactured dates

3 tires were 2008 & 1 was 2009

I refused to leave with them and asked for 2011

Would you of done the same ?

 

Hmm idk rubber really can not go bad unless stored improperly

 

Ya, I dont think I have every checked them, ha. Never had a issue if the tires were a couple years old on my car.

 

I always check, one of the most overlooked things out there.. Tires do have a shelf life, 6-7yrs is really about it.

 

The last four digits of the DOT branded on its sidewall are the week and year production date. For example, in DOT # 4M8RX1113709 the last four numbers 3709 says it was produced the 37th week of 2009.

Since most tires are manufactured in North and South America, as well as Europe, Africa and Asia, it's common to receive new tires directly from manufacturers that are already six to nine months old.

 

there was something on the news about this a while ago some people where getting tires that were really, really old. Maybe like 5+ years. Might be on youtube

 

Learned something new - I never knew tires were dated. Checking the rubber on the Evo, I see they are '08 and my winter rubber is '07.
