fortune auto vs. bc vs. hsd

Ok so ive finally narrowed it down to theese 3 coilovers.. fortune auto 500, bc ram type, hsd.. their all pretty close in price and specs im lookn to slam it and still have a good ride. Its not my dd but i do drive it on the street and would like to take it to the track once n a while. So my question is which and why? You might want to read up about ride height on our cars before you go slamming it. My vote is for Fortune Auto. I am riding on their coils and they are more than happy to help you dial in your set up.

my vote goes to Fortune Auto, they seem to have the most R&D into their coilovers out of those options.

**waits for somebody to bring up go KW or swift springs on bilsteins or don't do it all**

It depends on what you want. For the most street-friendly setup without hurtin your wallet, I'd go with the Spec R and Bilsteins. It out-handles most "cheap" coilovers as stated by suspension guru's. ;P

I've never heard anything bad about Fortune Auto. So I'd go with them.

^ This. He drives a integra too. So it makes sense why he would drop right away and not worry about any of ill effects.

Don't think you can push as hard as you can on a set of fortune autos with swifts on bilsteins

edit: fails lol...meant other way around. Either way FA ftw

ahahahahaha who says that? Have you raced with both sets? I was riding on Bilsteins and Tanabe springs prior to my FA's and in no way can those out handle my car now. Also FA coilovers now have the option to upgrade to swift springs.

I wouldn't call that a FAIL as it is still a heated debate amongst many suspension guru's here. After riding on both FA and BC coilovers I found FA to not be as bouncy. As far as performance goes I can't give credit to the BC's as they has they wrong spring rates in them. The BC's had an 8k/7k spring rate whereas my car has a 7k/9k rate and just felt more balanced and neutral for spirited driving. The FA's are the only set I have tracked and will recommend them to anyone looking for a lower end coilover.

Get Tein S Tech springs which are horrible. Since you're shopping for something horrible and you narrowed it down to 3 bad choices, mightaswell save money on getting "the stance you want".

thought you pulled the trigger already? Well I have had personal experience with BC racing. While they build a decent coilover they have certainly put their focus on customer service and servicing their product outside of their 1 year warranty with good prices on rebuilding. And back in the day when I had my kit it was a little more difficult but low and behold they came thru with my replacement. Others in my EVOSOUL group have similar feelings about BC Racing. Price is great, but the longevity of the kit is the only issue. Our boy Rick in Singapore has had it with his BC racing coils on his EVO X because of noise and a strut is on its way out.

I have been testing the HSD on the EVO X and Genesis platform and everyone who is running gives it pretty good marks for the street and on the track. Still looking for a negative review, can't find one.

I have not used a Fortune coilover so I cant offer insight there.

Just going to post this here in response to that show of English above.

And HSD = BC = D2 = Ksport = Megan. All made in the same factory. Just different colors. And they all have zero comprehension of motion ratio / wheel rate. Which I have pointed out a hundred times. Rates are wrong for the Evo 7/8/9.

Evo X is NOT the same as the CT9A.
