Oops, staggered offset question, same size tire.

So I picked up a set of used rota grids 17x9.5 I was told.
Long story short I had someone remove the 235 tires that were on them and he chipped the paint pretty good on 2 of them, he put my new 255/40/17 on all 4.

At this point after a discussion he agreed to cover the two he messed up so I ordered two new 17 x 9.5 +30 offset. I went to a new place today and had the tires swapped from the two marked up wheels to the two new wheels. When I picked them up I discovered the old wheels had a rota sticker on the inside that read 17x9 +25.

So now the question is I have two 17x9.5 +30 and two 17x9 +25 with 255/40 tires on them. Can I run the 9.5's in the front and 9's in the rear and call it a day or will I end up needing spacers or should just get two new 17x9's? Will it hurt anything?

Thanks.

Best would be to get another pair that matches, but if you didn't, I would run the wider ones in the rear. It will probably come very close to looking the same as the difference in offset and width will cancel each other out.

I always run wider up front...

I don't think you can fit a 9.5 +30 up front without spacers though. Easiest would just be to buy a 5 or 10mm spacer and run the 17x9.5 in front and 17x9 in the rear, or you could just buy another pair of wheels to match the others.

I wouldn't run a wider wheel in the rear unless you don't care about handling characteristics.

Buyer Beware

I would never run such a mis-match, although some say it wont hurt. I like all my components to match, especially when it comes to wheels/tires

Wider in front is better for cornering. +5 mm is not a big deal in any case.

I do run 9.5 +30 in front 275/35/18 w/o rubbing on pretty much stock fenders.

Running a different offset rims, especially 5mm, is no problem. It's different tire widths and diameters that get you into hot water with the AWD system. I run 5mm spacers up front - have been doing so for years, even with the stockers.

I believe this adds 14mm to the backspacing (according to offset calculator), stock is 139.x as far as I remember. Does that mean I should run 10mm spacers or would 5mm be ok? Also could I even get away with being 14mm closer to the strut or is that cutting it too close? I might be able to test fit tomorrow and find out, just trying to figure it out ahead of time.

I quit.
After all this turns out the tires I traded a friend for were 255/45s and I obviously was not paying attention. They are too large a diameter to fit which I realized tonight when I went to test the 9.5" wheel on the front. I hate life right now. Spent $75 the first time to swap the 4 when the kid messed the wheels up. Spent another $50 to swap two of the messed up wheels to the wrong size 9.5" at a different shop.
Now I need to buy 4 new tires and get them mounted. At least the hankooks have a rebate this month. Dammit.
