Wheel / Tire help

Picked up a set of 18x9.5 xxr 522's with 25+ offset. Fenders are rolled, and I tried running at Perelli 255 40 18 rubbed high and inside. I through on a Falken 245 40 18 and it rubbed inside... DO I need to go to a 245 35 18, or a 255 35 18... I dont get it, a buddy ran a 265 35 18 on a 18 x 9.5 wheel with 22+ offset... with the Perellis I listed above with no rubbing just different wheels. Thoughts?

From: ogden, is a shiny penny
hmm, bad luck..

ya know how tires differ a little bit from brand to brand with the size.. even if they are the same series all the way around, the tires could still be different.

maybe wheels and offset are the same, although i'd hope not.

he also ran a 35 series tire.. at least that's what you said. i wouldn't think it, but that little bit of clearance could make the difference.

and i'm taking it your budy had an evo too?

good luck

The 40 aspect ratio is your issue. Drop to a 35.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
255/40 sidewall = 102mm
245/40 = 98mm
265/35 = 92.75mm

255/35 = 89.25mm
245/35 = 85.75mm
