Where and what brake rotors to buy??

Hi,

I i have a evo 8 MR, and i would like to give it a brake upgrade, I have been looking at the DBA 5000 series (slotted) for the front and the DBA 4000 series on the rear (slotted).
The car will be getting a work out from time to time, so i want something that is a little bigger.
Can i please get your opinion on this option and where to buy them from?

Im in Sydney Australia, so ill also need too shipped them down under.

thanks

what do you mean by bigger? you want to upgrade calipers and all and go to a BBK? if you are after better rotors (same size as stock) go with 2-piece design, girodisc. That's what I have, and I recommend them, they've seen quite some abuse ( both on the track and street ) and never once complained

DBA is Australian, you should look them up.

I run DBA 5000 in the front on my track evo. They're well made.

Thanks for all the feedback so far.
I have sent email requests to afew suppliers, requesting prices.
I have looked at the AP racing, and i think its a bit of an over kill for my application, the car wont be seeing the kind of conditions where i will get the full use of those items.
Think im going to go for the DBA 5000 series Slotted 2 piece rotor on the front, and 4000 on the rear.
Cost wise i have been quoted $900 a pair for the front and $540 on the rear. good price???
Here is a link to the DBA on youtube: DBA 5000 series EVO 8 / 9 rotor- Whats in the Box?

Thoughts?

The DBA4000's should be plenty for the front as well. If you want the bling factor of a 2-piece, then I understand, but its probably not needed.

What pads are you thinking about using, and how do you use the car? ie.. road racing, hard street, drag?

Get ivans (x3e motorsports) 2 pc rotors he'll do front and rears for just a little over $1000.
Im hearing very good reports from these. And hes a top bloke to deal with and hes only in melbourne. You can find him on evooz(vendors).

Performance friction makes a great rotor.

STMTuned.com ships worldwide. I'm sure they could get you a set of DBA rotors, and they also have a pretty good selection of rotors here http://www.streettunedmotorsports.co...suspension.htm I know there is power freed up when using the Baer Eradispeed's, they did a dyno test. Good luck with your search!

I do like the look of the two piece rotor. The car has standard rotors and upgraded pads on it at the moment. And its just not pulling up fast or hard enough.

The car gets used for alot of highway driving. Along with drag and hard street.

If you are just fooling around on the street, you don't need two piece rotors.

Get a set of DBA 4000 rotors for the front and some stock blanks for the rear and be done with it.

DBA 5000 is overkill for your application, but whatever it's your money.

For pads, just look at some aggressive street pads, bed them correctly with your new rotors and you'll be all set.

I use my 06 evo mr for over 10 de weekends a year. I had significant brake issues until 2 years ago until I went to performance friction 2 piece floating rotors and either pagid yellow or pf01 pads.

I had gone through all the usual recommendations, but they didnt last more than 2 events. The performance frictions have been through at least 15.

If you do de events, save yourself the bother and get the pf discs.
