Are driveshaft spacers necessary?

I'm coming from the s2000 scene where driveshaft Spacers are necessary when you go low. I was wondering if you needed them in an evo 9. Does.anyone use them? Is there a previous thread I could be directed to? Thanks everyone.

<grin> You might as well paint a target on the thread. As this is the suspension forum and Evolutions are sh/t dropped low, it's not something we look at in good light. There is a board right next door where the complete and total bastardization of the automobile is acceptable. I know you're new and are asking in good faith.

No, we don't need driveshaft spacers. Good luck.

It's not an opinion; it's geometry.

How's this? I second and fully back FJF's "opinion".

If you want to slam the car. Go to that other forum. You want a proper suspension. Stick around. Read some threads.

What's stupid is buying a great car just to minimize its capabilities for the sake of a look.

Oooh, newb bashing!

Why would a s2000 need a drive shaft spacer when lowering? Its IRS, the diff shouldnt move with the suspension. What am I missing here? Any who, no you dont need that.

PS, you've just learned out that the "Suspension" forum doesn't play well with the "Show 'n' shine" forum. Pick one, stick with it, learn, grow, sack ride Smike like the rest of us

Ah, alright. I'll be as serious as I can in internet form.

Listen, there is a million thread and topics within this forum. You have some of the most knowledge about the car out there within here.

We give people a hard time. We still hold that information close to our hearts. We do not want to see this car go to the wayside. If you want to do something we do not much care for, there is another forum that does not car about function. Only looks.

Now, you cannot slam an Evo in good. No, you do not need spacers. Driveshaft angles are not that of a Honda.

"sack ride smike"? Saying **** like i hope his ego isnt as big as his wheel gap? heh just kidding

If you lower an s2k it puts a lot of stress on the axle joint and ruins them quickly thats why they are neccesary and wheel spacers and driveshaft spacers aren't the same.

And I don't own an evo yet. I only want an 06 WW MR and up here in washington there are none to be found. I've been searching craigslist for months and only 1 has come up. Which sold in a day. So i'm most likely flying down to california in april for a wedding and will pick one up then. Seems to be a few good ones at all times on the classifieds. Just researching and picking up a few parts till then.
