Got myself a set of type2's for my ix. I still haven't installed them. There's enough good reviews in the Honda world. No reviews from the evo guys because they usually stick to what they know "motons, jic, tien,kw etc. I've heard that f&f's are made by the same company as Megan's. I gues we can be of the first to give reviews.

Expect same as Megans.

Honda world? I wouldn't even bother to read anything from them.

Heard good things about Megan's on SoCal evo such as lap times and canyon runs. So I can expect decent performance for the price? What's wrong with reading on reviews from the honda guys? Actually ppl with tsx's, tl's, s2ks, Is300's, Silvia's have used f&f's and had good things to say. Oh I get it, every single one of those guys are just a bunch of snot nosed kids and have no idea what their talking about. Yeah your right, we're better than that because we own evos right?

Yeah, basic people. Same people who would not know what the difference between good and crap is.

At one time, Evo owners were some of the more educated and serious performance people. Can't say that now.

Valving on BC (parent to Megan, F/F, all other choose your color coilover) is not nearly as well thought-out, constructed, tested, or proven as known good coilovers (Ohlins, Bilstein, KW, AST, Moton, etc).

Going cheap because you cannot afford good? Think about that.

U just classifly ur self as an ignorent, stuck up individual. Funny thing is i own an evo along with two other hondas. So you speaking without knowing enough knowledge just back fired back at you

You ask how they are and then when Smike gives you an honest, true answer you call him ignorant because it's not the answer you wanted?

They cost 1/3 the price of a good set of coilovers because they're just that. You get what you pay for. Are they going to randomly explode when you open the box? Probably not. Are they going to be fine for you? Absolutely, because you don't sound like you care in the fine-tuning of things and you just want some coilovers that will stiffen the ride and drop the car.

So looking at your post count you probably can't comprehend why Smike comes across as harsh. Think about seeing the same question everyday from People who have purchased Evo's who;ve come from other car worlds where suspension isn't as big a determining factor in what is considered "good".

If you track your car seriously the brands that Smike mentioned are the top choices. If you are just looking for something that will allow you to lower the car aesthetically without compromising handling too much then all the lower end coilovers fit the description. It doesn't matter WHAT you get. They are all the same.

Good coilovers give yo more information on their build (Shock Dyno stats, valving, rebuildable, etc). All/most of the sub 1500 coilovers are pretty much the same.

And for the record you can get the same out of a set of MR Bilsteins and swift/GT Worx springs. I bought coilovers for the adjustability but MOST of us get it to a ride height and don't mess with it because to do so properly would be beyond mosts peoples abilities.

Smike is being harsh because 1) These re the same questions and bottom line is most newer Evo owners just want to lower the car. and 2) Most don;t quantify their needs because most of the members cars on this forum are mainly street vehicles.

Last thing. I'm a Honda guy as well and you can't NOT compare suspension for a Civic/TSX/Integra to a Evo. Evo platform is designed for performance at a certain level. Those others are not on the same level (maybe the S2K, but there are inherent differences between RWD convertibles vs. 4 door Rally cars).

Hey, you like your dosage of crap; stick with it.

Funny thing is I directly work with and on both.

Be careful who you talk to like that, Smike has more firsthand experience with racecars and related suspension components than 99% of this board. Also, try using proper grammar, spelling, and capitalization; it helps make you look like you have a clue.

okay , this is blowing off hand, and going off topic...The whole problem with smikes response is that he talks down to honda owners. I dont care how many posts he has, or who would like to sit on his lap. If ones gonna be rude to others just for the hell of it, it wrong. And the s2k has far amazing handling and suspension....imo far better than an evo. But they just suck in rain and snow
