Brakes are squeeking, Anyone else?

Well guys i just bought my EVO about two or three weeks ago and I've noticed over the last week or so that the brakes are squeeking pretty badly when I come to a full stop. Is this something that the EVO's just do or do I need to take it in?

Anyone else have this problem?

Mine has been doing it more in the cold weather. It squeals right a sthe car is about to stop, especially at very low speeds. It comes and goes for me...seems to be worse in the extreme cold.

I have about 7K on mine.

Mine went throught the same phase. I think I glazed them or something showin off to friends how well it stops. Anyway, they stopped squeaking after a couple of weeks and never came back. No worries!

That's a relief. I was starting to think the Brembos were in trouble.

Big brakes like the Brembos do that...the bigger, the harder it is to dampen the squeel (which is just a harmonic vibration).

Nothing to worry about..like everything else it is something you have to live with to get the insane performance...

Seems to be a very common thing, mine was doing the same since new and it now has 1,800 miles on it. There are different pads that apparently would help and also would make lesss dust.

I like this place, one of their engineers also post here sometimes:

I'd recommend bedding in the brake pads and rotors, just like any other brakes installed on a car.

What exactly is bedding in, referring to brake pads and rotors?

taking the car up to 65mph or so and slamming on the brakes (watch your abs work) (be safe) that way the pads and rotors can intermesh properly Right now its flat surface against flat surface, hence the squeeking.

Normal

Don`t worry about it mine did the same, just take it to the track and you will never hear it again. Your car will thank you for it!
