Coilovers Setup

After installing coilovers, how do you determine what settings to adjust to? I haven't gone with a set yet, but I would like to set up for DD and spirited driving.

It depends on which set you are purchasing. I know RobiSpec has a guide for the KWs (ride height and compression/rebound adjustments).

What brand would you guys recommend? Budget is no more than $1500. Willing to go the used route also.

Are you interested in stance or performance? At your budget levels the best performing coilover is a set of bilstein struts and aftermarket springs (Swift, GTWorx).

budget is pretty low, i would take Ludikraut's advice.
all the coilovers in that range tend to be similar. stance, bc, fortune, etc
you determine settings based on how YOU drive. no one setup will work all around as everyone drives differently.

Unless you can find a used set of KWs, I would call up Fortune Auto and talk with them. With $1500, they can give you a nice setup.

I have Bilstein with swift r springs right now. Looking for something a little bit more stiff and less body roll.

Just play with the settings until you find something that suits you.

Tein makes some quality suspension from what I've experienced.

Stay away from used coilovers unless you really know the seller and really trust them. I've seen a lot of people get burnt on that because if there's an issue, it's usually at least $2-300 for repairs and by that time you're pretty close to the cost of new ones.

In the $1500 or less range, there's a lot of options. I'd check into any of the following if I were in your shoes:
  • Cusco Comp S
  • Buddy Club Racing Spec
  • H&R Street
  • Ksport Kontrol Pro
  • Fortune Auto 500 and 510
  • Tanabe Sustec Pro Five
  • Skunk2 Pro C
  • Stance SS or SS+
  • Tein Super Street

Depending on how you'll use the car, I can help you narrow it down from there. Also, don't forget to get a good alignment by a shop that has experience in Evos. Or at least look up some other folks alignments on the forum. Alignment is very important.

just out of curiosity could someone give a link for the best coilovers for $1,500-2,000? I want the best performance no matter how harsh the ride is.
