Running different tire sizes

So I'm in a situation where I have to use my old tires. I know that they are 215/45/18 and the ones I'm running on right know are 225/40/18. I was wondering if I could run those 2 different sizes for a short period of time?

The old ones are 25.7" in diameter and the current tires are 25.0. That almost 3% different diameter.

I wouldnt risk it.

Do you like your center diff? Do you have a giant pile of money? If yes to question one - don't. If yes to question two - PM me for my PayPal.

Highly recommend against it due to risk of drive train damage.
