Just don't expect much performance from them. I came to the conclusion i'd rather have these than some cheapo all seasons, but still, do some spirited driving on an empty road/turn , and you'll see what i'm talking about. I also kept in mind that its extremely hard for a tire to live up to the intensity performance wise of the Michelin Super Sports.

The Cooper Zeons are Greatttt.. I used to run Conti Sports. Hated the look.. good quiet tire but couldn't agree with the look. I had Dunlop's Star Spec, before that and they were loud. I was about to change the wheel bearings. I I thought they had gone bad from how loud they were. Trust me on these Coopers, they are Great tires.. no BS.

FWIW, I'm on my second set of V12s. It's my fourth set of tires in ~24K miles (3 sets of pads). If they performed badly, doubt I would have gone for round-2.

Hah, just realized that my wife's Mazda has V12's on it (bought it used). On her car, they're quiet, have a progressive feel, and comfortable.

I can see what the op meant about the sidewall stiffness though.

In any case will be finding out soon enough how they feel on the 8. But based on the experience so far, I'm less concerned.

What made you stick with those over Z1s? (Didn't you have Z1s before?)

I had 2 sets of the stock Advans and two sets of the V12s. I didn't choose Z1s, at first, due to their weight, diminished performance at lower temps, and the simple fact that I could never use them fully on the street. I decided on the second set of the V12s, because I didn't dislike the first. That's really what it boiled down to.

It's funny that you say that... I had the stock Advans, then the Z1s and now the V12s which I had installed this past Friday. The day I picked up the V12s from America's Tire Co at the end of June (just to stock up on them while they still had the $80 rebate/AmEx card) I could already tell how much lighter they were though it was also clear that the sidewalls weren't nearly as stiff. Similarly, I'm really just DDing the car and not really going to the track, so I figured the V12s were a nice alternative that were still decent while being more affordable (not that my life changes because of it) but likely being able to last longer.
