Bilstein rebuild turn-around?

Anyone have any experience here? I sent a set of PSS9's out for a re-build about a week ago. Fedex confirms delivery and signature.

*****Updated***** 3-4 weeks total turn around.

Mine were supposed to take a few weeks and took a couple of months. I've heard the same from several people.

I bought a set of MR Bilsteins over a year ago and had the previous owner ship them straight to the Bilstein facility. I called them in advance to let them know that they were coming and called again to confirm that they arrived. After ~3 weeks, I got a call from them saying that they finished revalving the dampers. That was my experience with them. Hope that helps.

Juan from Bilstein called me today. He was out because of a family emergency and backed up at the shop. Super helpful, nice guy, now I feel like a douche. Looks like it will be about 3.5-4 weeks total turn around. Happy

Just out of curiosity how much does it cost to rebuild a set of Bilstein Struts?

It should be $75 per strut, $65 per shock, assuming they haven't changed the pricing since last September

Hmmmm,

I've been daily driving my PSS9s for awhile now, how do you know when they need a rebuild? I'm planning to start autoxing next year after a several year hiatus..

Thanks.

A simple test is to push directly on the car where the strut/shock is and see if if comes up instantly or bounces for a bit. If its bouncy then they are probably blown. You can also check the struts/shocks themselves by checking for traces of oil that may have leaked. Clunking noises from struts/shocks can also indicate that they need to be rebuilt.

He said the exact same thing to me in May...

After Bilstein said it would take 4 months and tried to sell me a new set of PSS9's instead of a rebuild, I shipped my coilovers to Stewart Development.

Thanks for the info. I don't think mine are too bouncy, but they do clunk...

Gotta figure something out since this my DD as well.
