The Bobcats are not supposed to be high squeal (they are not race pads), but Carbotech admits they could not meet coefficient requirements for the Evo with their Bobcat pad and have since pulled it from the market. Looks like you got bummed.

 

I know that's why I'm looking for another pad. My girlfriend actually said she won't ride in my car anymore until I do something about the noise the brakes make. I can't drive it too long or I'll get a headache.

 

You and your girl don't do fun things together much huh, like going to the road circuit and seeing who's faster... that'll strengthen the ole relationship. Then you'll only look back and laugh how you used to think the pads were noisy....

 

When people talk about the DS2500's being noisier, it might be because many don't re-shim the brake pads using the shims from the OEM pads, leading to resonance during low speed braking.

 

So how many of the stock shims are you supposed to use? I put the two that were on each pad and put it on the bobcats and I couldn't make them fit without taking the calipers off and wedging them in. I'm hoping the Ferodos will fit in easier and make less noise.

 

I had Hawk HP+ on last summer, talk about squealing pads. My wife and I both track our Evo and after a while the constant pad noise while braking on the street becomes unbearable.

 

These ones on my car now make some noise when you hit the brakes. But when you hit the brakes hard they make so much noise that I can't even drown it out with the sterio.
