Breaking the tires loose

I've added about 40-50 whp to my car since I bought it, and am currently running all-season high performance tires (because of the winter) on my car - specifically the Conti Contact Extremes.

Here's the deal:
I can break all 4 tires loose around any turn in 1st gear at will. If the road or my tires are wet, it's simply dangerous to even try when that boost hits!

In 2nd gear, when I'm making a turn or something, if I gun it and the boost hits, I can also break the tires loose at will and squirt the car sideways briefly.

I've tried a couple times in third (hammering around a corner) but it is not as likely unless it is wet.

My question - are you other guys able to do this?? I want to know if my car is more powerful that most, or if the tread I am running isn't good enough to handle the current power I'm producing?????

Thanks.

i think its your tread. being an AWD drivetain, your tires shouldn't break loose that easily. I definetly say its your tires. btw what mods do you have to get you 40-50whp

P2 flash - cat-back exhaust. (removed all that crap from my sig)

I'm planning a little more, that is why I ask. Still have the Advan's sitting in the shed.

On a cold day I'd have traction problems with the Advans.. once the tires warm up, they've been good in everything except bad weather.. hehehe..

the advans are lethal when they are cold, its like riding on ice. I've slipped a few times before warming up the car. All in all, i'd say be really careful, the Evo is one crazy ****

I got all crazy a couple times yesterday (on the Contis). It was a balmy 49 degrees here - kinda neat when there's still some snow and ice on the ground. Anyways, after driving about 20 miles, I got squirely around a corner as usual.

So, it's not the temp of the tires in this case.

You are breaking loose because the Conti Contacts are really not good tires. Being in-expensive all-seasons, they don't perform like you would like them too in all conditions.

My car is modified.. honestly on a good launch I can break my tires loose under any conditions, but cold pavement and cold tires (not ice, just cold) it will spin easily and catch you offguard if your not expecting it.. Fortunately I don't really get an opportunity to beat on my car when the tires are cold.

Exactly nothing special here. Your getting up there when you can break them loose from a 2nd gear roll

Its very easy to get the back end out and slide a bit going around sharp turns.

Pop the clutch just a bit on a wet/snow covered parking lot and that back end will come right around. The other day I went to that car museum out by Cahokia, the one that used to be a Venture. The entire parking lot was a sheet of ice. I felt like I was figure skating in the Evo doing spins and what not.
