Fortune Auto Coilovers track reviews?

glad someone finally reviewed these on the track. I had the FA500's 10k/12k on my last EVO, and had the setup corner balanced and valved for track use but I ended up selling the car before getting to race on them. I had run Buddy Club racing spec coilovers for 150,000 miles before I swapped to the FA's. The suspension on the EVO MR I have now is getting a bit old, so I'm either going with FA's again, or I might just do the Bilstein/Swift combo. Still undecided, but this thread definitely helped.

My short track review on Fortune Auto's:
-FA 510, race valving, 10k/12k springs, radical bearings.
-after setup, alignment, all day fine tuning it, went 2.5 secs faster at NJMP thunderbolt just from this coilover upgrade and no other modifications or changes.
-rides actually soft and plush on the street until you hit a pothole or road crack then its really harsh.
-had to cut/modify brake line studs as they were too long and hitting the chassis
-overall best coilover for under $2k and for the budget trackday racer.
-long wait time to get them too.
Hope this helps!

Curious about your comment about them being plush until a hard hit. I thought it would be the exact opposite w/the digressive valve. When you hit a hard transition is when the valve should blow off. At least thats how I understood it
Thanks for the tip on modifying the studs. My current c/o's I have the brake like tie wrapped to the shock body
Great to hear that they worked well at the track

Its hard to explain, this shock for the street it soaks up a lot of the bumps, dips, small cracks way better/softer than other coilovers I've used in the past, on a stiff setting it even rides softer than my Swift-R setup, but if I hit something raised or a crack in the road thats somewhat 1-2 inches deep or high, it will bang really harsh like no other.
Now, on the track a whole different story, I could hit the inside curbing hard and it won't be harsh at all, it feels really good actually, planted, zero understeer, and laptime to prove it worked.
It is a coilover in the end, I did opt for the race valving for track use and my evo is not a daily driver so I purchased this strictly for track use so I would not recommend this for street use.
Combination of parts, tires, setup, spring rates, alignment, etc...can play a major role on how harsh it will be on the street, if you intend to buy these for street use....but why?

Trying to decide on the 500 series or the 510 series. I mainly drive the car on the street but will do track days in the summer. Is the ultra digressive valve in the 510 really that much more aggressive than the normal digressive valve in the 500? Im worried that if i go with the 500, ill wish later that i had gone with the 510 because the 500 weren't quite aggressive enough, but it would suck if i over did it. I was thinking about going with a 8k/9k or maybe 9k/10k. I don't mind a harsh ride.

Have had 2 track days on the FA510 w/10K&12K (Swift Spring & bearing kit)
Driving to & from the track feels OK w/no harshness. On the track, the FA's felt great & able to bomb the curbs which I usually do not. The digressive valve is really felt when rolling over the curbing
Ran my best time at the Fontana Roval 1:52
