17x9 35 offset, need advice.

hey guys. as the title says i need some advice on a set of tires for a 17x9 rim with a 35mm offset. i am on the stock suspension, stock height, and was wondering if anyone has experience with this setup. i have the stock size 235/45/17, but the tires are too skinny and round out the sidewall. i want to go with a tire like a 245 or 255, but after searching, no one running these rims are still on stock suspension. my concern is if i go wider, will it rub on the strut or wheelwell, and should i go with a 45 or 40 series tire? pics and experience would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Got to go w/ the 255/40/17 IMO or a 265/40. Wheel size & offset are right in the ball park. Personally, I like just a bit lower offset (+29) but that requires more work

This should clear the the stock lower spring perches as the 255 tire is shorter in height than the stock 235/45.
This setup w/ poke out approx 1/2" further. You might be able to get away w/ no roll on stock camber

Suggestion: Get some lowering springs

265/40 would be the ideal choice imo.

I am on IX MR Bilsteins with Swift Spec R's and there is plenty of room to the spring perch and I am on 245/40's at the moment on 17x9 rpf1's. I will take a pic and post on for you of how it looks. I have not rolled the rears as of yet because it does not rub on the current size, but will need it when I go to a 265, questionable at 255.

I personally wouldn't push it past a 255 as I've seen others need alignment changes and/or fender rolls with a 265.

I just sold my rpf1s a few weeks ago. They were 17x9+35. I had 255/40/17 on them. The rears would allow 265s im sure. The fronts, because I had to run 20mm spacers(now 15mm offset technically), would have been super agressive with 265s on them. Def. would have to have some neg camber for the front to fit right with a 265 imo.

I have 255/40/17 on the stock BBS 17x8 and they fit without issues. Swift Spec-r on stock MR bilsteins. i have read and heard 17 x 9 30 -35mm offset also has no issues with 255/40/17. if anything a minor roll in rear , no pulling etc

I just got my wheels less than a week ago and I went with 17x9 with a 35 offset. My tires are 245/40 and I'm on the stock MR suspension for right now until I get coilovers. I drove around all weekend and didn't have any issues.

Currently have rpf-1 17x9 +35 with 245/40 tire and no issues.
Using a 20mm spacer too.

May need the fenders rolled. Def need to get alignment with as much camber as you can.

I wouldn't put a 245/40 on a 17x9 rim. First off all, the diameter is going to be too small, but perhaps more importantly, its too narrow of a tire for a 17x9. If all you wanted was 245/40, you could get away with putting that on the stock rim. Put a 255/40 on the 17x9 - its what's meant for that size rim.

Hey man I have a similar set up.
Running a 17x9 +35 wheel on stock suspension/height and I'm running 255/40 potenza tires and fitment is perfect IMO like others have said. The only pic I have right now is my avatar, I have pics somewhere need to find it.
