Wheel/Tire size for Evo V???

Hey guys,

Just picked up an Evo V, should be here in June. I will be using the stock rims as winters so need to get a set of summer rims and would like to have them before the car arrives.

So, I believe the stock rim size is 17 x 7.5 et38. I would like to stay at a 17" rim because the roads here are less than perfect. I would like to stay at least at 7.5" width but can go wider. Question is, what offset, width and tire size should I be looking into?

I do not want to roll fenders, so needs to fit without modification. I am on stock suspension as far as I know.

Any help is appreciated...I suspect I will be back frequestly with questions as this is my first Mitsubishi and I am just learning. Spent the last 10 years in Subaru's...

Thanks

With no mods a 17x8.5 +35/+30 will go on nicely with either a 235/45/17 or 245/40/17 tyre.

A 17x9 +35 can go on but it starts to get tight at that size especially when running a 255/40/17 tyre.

Excellent, thanks. Very much appreciated, the 235 or 245 is more than enough for me.
