factory Subframe Brace Question HELP

Thanks in advance for the help, I just picked up an 03 Evo, and one of the front sub frame braces is missing. The car seems to have a lil play in the front end when going over bumps, or "picking" a line on the freeway. Would this be caused by the missing sub frame brace? or could it be something else? What would be an affordable aftermarket sub frame brace to replace both of them?

are you talking about the one that runs right underneath the front under the downpipe? Or are you talking about the upper strut bar

I think he's talking about the two bars that connect right to left under the DP. You can pick up an aftermarket one or find a factory used one for sale here.

You might as well get a 4 point (1 piece) subframe brace. Like the Cusco unit, which is very nice.

But with the problems your describing, it seems like you have excessive camber. Where it chooses it's "own line". Like it feels as if it pulls it self out, when veering left or right on the highway. And the looseness of the front end, could be any worn out bushings in the front..

A subframe brace isnt going to fix "Picking a line"on the freeway. Sounds more like you need an alignment first--- that will likely fix the problem. You would notice the frame braces when cornering.

Would think toe out is a more likely culprit than camber here...regardless, doubt it's the subframe bracing. Worth nothing as well that the steering rack in the Evo is highly sensitive (for many of us the steering is one of the car's best features) and more "lively" than most cars on the road, so to a point it may just be something you're not terribly used to. Would get the car aligned and inspect bushings and various components for play and report back.

Never meant to say the brace was the cause, sorry if my post was misleading. Unequal toe usually pulls one way.. But anyway, as mentioned, getting your alignment would be wise.

Toe out makes it tramline too, it will want to do its own thing a little but it sharpens turn in too so its personal choice how much toe you run.
