The offset sounds a bit close for comfort, you will probably need spacers to clear the brakes in the front. Stock wheels are 8 inch +38 offset. My setup has RPF-1's in 9.5" with a +18 offset and I needed to bring that back to basically +38 with a 20mm spacer to clear the brakes.

That size fits fine and clears the calipers without the need of a spacer. For the RPF-1's the 17x8 +35 and the 17x8.5 +30 will clear the brakes however the next size up 17x9, I forget the available offsets off the top of my head, will not fit without a spacer.

So what is the best size to go with to clear the brakes and if possible no spacers im not sure what was ment with the last 2 posts. So is the 17x8 with +35 offset the best and works without spacers?

Is there an rpf1 17inch that will fit without any spacers and 235-45 on it. I can't find any verification of it and I'm worried about ordering them wrong

As I said in my post yesterday either a 17x8 +35 or a 17x8.5 +30 will be a good choice for you. The larger ones will be a little more aggressive in that they will stick out a little further and are .5" wider.

If I were choosing between those two I would go with the 17x8.5 but honestly if you are just dd the car and dont plan on running anything larger than a 235/45 then you will not notice a difference.

Is there any advantage to running either the 8 or 8.5 wide with a + 40 offset

Not at all. The stock offset is +38 so I dont even know if those would fit.

+40 won't fit.

If you are dead set on not using spacers use the 8.5" +30mm. Wider than oe and still not using a spacer.

Would the 8.0 with +35 offset be the best then, cause I won't be going bigger than 235/45 for the tires

If you wont be going larger than a 235/45 and weight is of a concern to you then stick with the 17x8 +35. IIRC I think they are ~.5lbs less per corner than the 17x8.5 +30

5.79 for back spacing is good for the 17x8 +35 also. That's what tire rack showed
