Anyone using the ceramic wheel bearings?
I am asking this this because they look great on paper and the advertising hype says they are excellent, and I know they are more expensive than the oem bearings, but this car has been my dream car since I was 16 and did quite a few things to be able to afford an evo so spoiling it with some expensive parts isn't a deal breaker for me. What I am wondering is anyone using them in a daily driver. I'm looking for longevity reports and if there is a difference in mpg and acceleration or is this just a part which ha an awesome advertising team behind it thank you.

Review from an AK evo and name drop on STM, I'm Sold, I don't know why that hasn't come up in conversation before since STM is who I order 95% of my parts from now that there's no more Mitsubishi dealer up here. Thanks for the feedback. Gonna have to get a set after the head rebuild this spring, not a big fan of doing tuning wot pulls on ice haha.

But I just realized you live in Alaska...these can't be used in salt or heavy rain...

Ok I'll have to make sure and check with u when I go to buy them cuz it'll b a little while gotta get the trans rebuilt and rebuilding the head this summer so it'll b awhile before I can afford them and my stockers are still good as far as I know. But I don't really see how there will be a problem since as far as I understand it's just ceramic bearings in an oem housing and ceramic doesn't rust like iron.
Looks like it is just that "low drag seal option" that is affected by the salt or heavy rains. Makes sense since the seal might not be as tight causing some moisture to get by the seal at times of very heavy rain.

Damn that fine print haha I don't even remember seeing that otherwise it probably would have made more sense that they were no good in rain, I guess it's a good thing the oem ones aren't total garbage.
These seem like a competition only part when looking for that last. 0.1 second after you've already spent $30k on every other proven part. I don't doubt they work but $1650 for something you'll never feel is steep.
I guess if you had to replace them all anyway then adding another $1200 on top might make sense???
Only makes sense to me if you are also doing the low drag seals as probably 50% of the drag is in the seals and not the rolling elements.
