Judging by the picture provided it appears to be a track car not so much autox but nonetheless I'm curious as to your current alignment specs?

Yes, autox here is much different than it is for you guys in the states. Our autox courses are much smaller and tighter, so most of the dominant autox cars are miatas and s2000s here.

But yes, car is if anything more of a track car than auto x. My alignment specs are -2.5 and -1.8 I believe.

I was on 10k/14k springs, restacked rear diff, RS front diff and my car was very loose. 275/35/18 NT01

Base alignment:
-2.5 camber up front
-1.5* in the back
Zero toe all around

It understeered until I cranked the front camber negative (which would also push it toe in). It was around -4* where it was very loose, tire wear was saying it was too much though.

-3.5 or so seemed like where it needed to be in the front and maybe a bit higher on the rear.
Ah okay good to know so I have a better reference as to what to get the car aligned to this year.

Apparently Mitsu messed around with the rear diff to reduce warranty work but this can be corrected for a better working rear diff. If you dont upgrade it to a 12 plate setup as others in the thread have then the mod is basically free.
Good read, if I don't end up getting around to the TRE 12plate I'll at the very least rearrange the diff properly

The alignment is where I would start. Getting the camber up makes a massive difference. There is a balance between camber and tire pressure to get good tire temps and within that balance there is an ideal match that provides the most grip.

Not running at the ideal point gives up overall grip but it can be used to balance out the car without having to change hard parts.

Dont most people agree on the pressure that specific tires should run?

How big of jump us it from incorrect plate alignment to correct alignment to the 12 plate?

Will you still need heavier spring rates in the rear after those mods? What about with a bigger rear sway bar?

Im actually in the hunt for coilovers and Fortune Auto's 500 series seemed quite tempting for the money. Also looking at D2 and Tein.. Budget is up to $1250.. any suggestions on the F.A.'s you'd care to share ??

I'd get rid of 3 (no performance benefit) and 4, and add rear swaybar and alignment (with raising the FAs). Will feel worlds better with that alone. Try that and see how you like it before spending $$$$$ on random crap. Setup is more important than the parts.

By the way where do you track? One thing to consider is track layout and road track vs. auto-x.

While I've driven on none of the c/o's you mentioned, based on reputation alone I would go with the FA's without a doubt.
