Brembo Paint

What over the counter brand paint does a good finish on brembo calipers? I am redoing mine and I am considering a color that isn't in the regular brembo paint line. Any suggestions would help. Thank you

Decals from ebay. Dupicolor caliper paint works fine, the high-temp clear came out realllyyyy milky for me.

I ended up using Rustoleum engine paint color and high-temp clear, they came out really nice. It also helps to that you can spray at any angle with them.

My method:

Sand and brake clean the ***** of them!
mask off everything you possibly can (this took the most time)
2 coats of primer
4 coats of color (light -> heavy)
2 coats of clear (light - light)
brembo stickers
2 coats of clear (medium - heavy)

It's been 2 years since I've painted mine bright orange and they look as good as new

Other notes:

Make sure to put the brembo stickers on just after the first 2 clears have tacked up and they are semi hard. If you touch the clear you may mark it up, so start the peeling of the sticker before you put it on so you have a sort of tab, then just line it up, press down on the sticker while holding the tab up then pull the film away from the sticker.

I had to clay bar my car after words, got ALOT of over spray on the fenders/hood

Haha. Me too. I suspected a I got a little overspray. I hit it with a clay bar and after about 3 swipes on the roof the under side of the clay went bright red.

Yeah, I went through almost 2 bars pulling the orange off. I tried to cover it up as best I could, but its near impossible, unless you mask off the entire car.

i have no doubt. but my brakes get really, really hot. i don't think there's really any way to avoid discoloration.

I mean I've never tracked my car, so they haven't gotten THAT hot, but I have done a fair share of hard braking. I would recommend following the coats in the above post and you'll be fine.

If you're really worried about it, get them powder coated. I was able to finish the brakes in about 8 hours or so, then let them dry over night before I drove the car.

For 8 hours of work even if you have the paint them after 1.5 years, its not that bad and much more cost efficient than powder coating.
