Motons, who was working on this?

Hi,

There was an individual on the board that was working on a possible moton suspension setup.

Any progress on this?

Steve

IIRC the person was Ryan (Ryanmcd) but he is banned from the board and i also think that he didn't follow through with that idea. i will try to get the info from him or you can ask MP5 to ask him about it.

thanks

I kicked Ryan to the curb bro. No word on the Motons but the Ohlin setup looks sick ~5K I know someone who has a set but will let them post their impressions. Blonde is a suspension freak also

i am but i still don't see the need for either Motons or the Ohlins unless you are a pro driver that live on the track. i love the Cusco coilovers and i have been using them for a long time and i couldn't be happier. the question you need to ask yourself is what are you looking for from the coilovers. do you plan on doing many track events, do you drive the car on the street etc...

I agree - those Ohlins and Motons (and Penskes) have definite cred amongnst the hardcore, but are complete overkill. I am working on something to get to "demo" some KW coilovers... So far, the best results I've heard about come from the RRE-tuned JIC FLT-A2s. Lots of So Cal guys have great things to say about them.

How's 8 seconds faster at Thunderhill or 5 seconds faster at Buttonwillow than last years Touring 3 winner at the Open touring car challenge (a S2K with a monster wing/splitter combo...)? Not bad for a fourbangen family four door sedan...JIC if you want to go fast in control..But if you forget RRE/Mueller you won't be happy...Hope the rest of you guys have spent the last 6 months suspension tuning like RRE has...(about 500 track hours across 4 cars)...

What you see if you don't have RRE/JIC

This is what you see without the RRE/JIC setup out on the west coast Road racing circut. For that Matter if you don't have a buschur Stage IV you see this anyway..hehehe

I only know what happened on a Saturday Thunderhill SpeedVenture event. There were 8 EVOs out there. There suppose to be around 25 on Sunday. But I think most of the fast guys are already there. Our friend Wayne put up a $100 prize to the EVO with the fastest lap, the owner must driver their car.

Here are some sample laptimes…
Wayne: 2:14, street tires, stock, 2:10 using used NSX slicks.
Doug: 2:16, driving Wayne’s car, slick, 250lb passenger.
Doug: 2.11, driving Matt Osbourne’s car, RA1, +20hp from exhaust, JIC road racing suspension.
Matt Osbourne: 2:12 with his car.
Aaron Bitterman: 2:13, street tires, stock.
Aaron Bitterman: 2:09 in Matt’s car.
Some other dude with 360rwhp: 2.09.

Just for some reference from that day…
Andrie: 2:09, with race Civic on RA1.
Doug: 2:07, S2000, stock on hoosiers
Dearing: 2:00, S2000, modified (unknown detail)
Kennedy: 2:01, S2000 Supercharged, modified suspension.
Kip Olsen, 2:00, NSX Supercharged.

These are real lap times.

Please give me lap times that John at RRE or even yourself, don't forget that these times are running at Thunderhill WITHOUT THE BYPASS.

Youve got that on the back of your car? I do respect your track events and good times but man I think I may just have to give it all back after this and the no show SCC

I won the $100 and set it back on the table @ Buttonwillow it's still in my pocket ;-). (by 3 seconds)
MP5 the trunk taunt is to irritate...rrr...throw other drivers off their game... is it working?
