heat sink and when you make it smaller and thinner it's doesn't perform as well.Originally Posted by slowsrt4:(

How many of those cars have Brembos? How many of these "drag guys" really use their brakes for more than a few seconds every 1/2 hour or so.Originally Posted by egis

The rotors themselves dont warp, thats just the general term being accepted by the population when a shop tells customers as to why they are getting pulsations when they brake. You cant really tell folks that its uneven pad material transfer on the rotors, because general masses dont understand that jargon. So now we have this warped rotors statement- its so much easier for folks to visualize that.
Turning rotors is not recommended because your just removing material from a heat sink so that means it will perform less efficiently and may have a tendency to be functioning at a higher overall temp, maybe too high causing other issues.
If your using stoptech pads, they do need to be bedded in to get the most performance out of them. Honestly, you really dont HAVE to, but you should.
You cant compare how your brakes lasted to the other guy in the G37. Even if its the identical parts, Im sure you both havent been braking exactly the same, maybe you have been riding the brakes a bit more or have more hills during your commute? Either way you cant compare.

i agree with you, they dont have brembos but they have aftermarket rotors and shoes and they dd their cars just like me.i didnt realize that brambo calipers clamps differentely then other calipers and thats why evoa need bedding.you live and learn.Originally Posted by cfdfireman1

The bedding in procedure has nothing to do with the style of calipers on the evo. Its about the brake pads themselves. Not all brake pads require this step, but depending on the materials used and how they are designed, certain brake pads may need it to be done to realize the full benefits. The stoptech street brake pads dont really require a bedding in procedure, but like I said, it is recommended. I dont think uneven pad material transfer to the rotors will occur if you dont bed in brake pads. This is more with driving style, riding the brakes, etc.

Take these guys advice, I too recently learned about bedding. In a nutshell you leave a lot of stopping power by not doing this. I have dba 4000 w/ EBC yellows not a good comparo with my stockers and oem rotors. But def. noticeable improvement in feel and of course stopping.
Sucks that most of the attention goes to engine/dyno threads, not really though but you get the idea. Breaking can be fun as speeding.

Most folks on this forum are about dyno numbers and 1/4 mile slips. Brakes dont get the abuse on a drag strip as they do a road course.
good man cfdfireman landed me his hawks race pads for the fronts.i beat the **** out of my brakes just an hour ago.looks like its not shaking no more while i brake. i dont know if i over did it but caliper paint went to toilet, decals are yellowish, pedal is soft and noticed that brake fluid is seeping thru the brake fluid reservoir cap and drips on the ground.i hope next morning when it gets cool all comes to normal.
look at my next thread about how fun is to clean the calipers if you have stop tech street performance pads.
