Clunking noise, at a complete loss!

Hey folks,
I have been having this issues for a long time. When I turn, hit bumps, initial acceleration and decel I get a clunk sound. However, I did find that the CV axle outer boot was split and slinging grease. This is new though, and it was clunking, but far, far less. Just to set the record straight, is this the axle or could it possibly be something else in addition?

Thanks in advance, and I'll answer any questions to the best of my ability.

Yes I do, I have already checked for any play in the springs, and in the hats. Nothing there.

Is it coming from the front or rear? How are you stabilizer bar links? What else on your car is aftermarket or modified that you have not stated? Your axle would not clunk like this.

It's coming from the front right. Which is the axle slinging grease. It's a clunk and a click. Kinda strange. The coils are the only front suspension modification.

Could be a bad bushing in your A-arm. Had that same symptom, took a while to track down on my VIII

Worn CV axles can make a click noise. I would replace the axle, since you need to do that anyway. Then take it for a ride and see what noises are still present.

I'll keep that a pillar in mind. I'll post again after it comes in and I throw it on. Thanks thus far, fellas!

Sounds like either the axle is going bad as you did say the boot is ripped. As more and more grease is slinging out that joint is going to get beat up. also could be a top hat on the suspension or maybe you have a bad bushing some where on the lower control etc. poke around and see what you can find

This.
Mine would make a knock sound on the bottom front right of the car anytime I hit a significant bump on the interstate and would do it 2-3 time after the initial hit.
Found out that the large bushing on the rear of the control arm was bad. Replaced it with the Perrin units and its significantly better. Wouldn't say that it's gone but its much better. I think my strut may be blown too.
