Tein Flex in winter time

Hi friends! I'm planning to get coil overs tein flex for my evo ix. But Im little bit afraid on using it in winter time. I mean there will be a lot of road salt and snow, and maybe it may damage coil overs. Im looking for best solution because I dont want to put them off every winter.
Maybe someone has similar experience or maybe you can give some advise on coilovers that can be used also in winter time. Thanks!

If you lubricate them every couple weeks they will be okay. Fluid film or a heavy lubricant will coat them and stop dirt and debris from entering the lock ring threads because they will seize otherwise, even with the factory coating on them. The shocks are made for all road conditions no worries there.

This testing led to the development of our exclusive painting technology that can withstand conditions from heavy snowfall areas.
As mentioned above, with proper maintenance, you should be fine. Keep in mind that if you are keeping some type of barrier/lube on them that it may attract dirt and grit, and you'll need to clean them more frequently. With a set of coilovers you have some external moving parts, so it would be advantageous to periodically dis-assemble to do the cleaning, just so you can clean all the grit out of the threads.

Also, TEIN used to offer "Rust Proof"spray, but pretty hard to find these days. I believe that since they started using the ZT coating they haven't felt it was necessary, hence the disappearance of Rust Proof.

I had the Tein Flex daily driver even through winter.

It did not like the snow, salt, winter conditions. Had to keep lubing the threads,etc...plus the pillowball upper mount isnt the best in winter either.

There newer shocks have a suppose better coating, give them a try??
