tein FLEX vs MONO FLEX??
to all the suspension freaks out there. :P
i tried couple of sites where they sell these two but didnt find enough info on these... (not enough description on the item)
is it worth spending $300 more on the coils for the "mono tube" ??
(monotube one did look more sturdy imo) lol
ima dummy when it comes to suspension so help a brotha out
if i had around $1800 to spend what would be my best route?
i do a lot of autox and mt runs. if that helps to pick out one.

In my book, I would always buy the best coilovers that I can afford, which in your case would be the Mono Flex over the standard Flex. Get them corner weighted and set up by Robert Fuller (robispec) and you'll never need to think about any suspension work again.
The Whiteline Roll Centre Adjustment Kit, Front Trailing Arms bushing kit, rear bumpsteer correction kit, and front and rear sway bars have made driving anywhere that much more fun and predictable. I have front and rear drop links as well as rear trailing arm bushings on order now, and after I get my setup cleaned up by Robi, I'll never touch it again.
That's how I would go about it. Hope that helped.

no specific reasons... this will be my first coils ever so i wanted to choose the right one.
and people go with teins a lot so i figured teins would make me happy as well. lol
i dont want megans....
its pretty much decided that im either getting the JIC's , Tein MONO FLEX, or KW variants...
what you think?

The KW V3s are probably in a different price bracket. If I could (afford to) do it again, I'd get the custom valved KW V3 Clubsports from robispec and get him to set it up for me.
I believe robi also offers TEIN Ultimate Circuit coilovers for the more hardcore amongst us.

Teins are a good choice cause they'll have the shortest turn around time on a rebuild. KW's will need to be resent to Germany for a overhaul. Other companies like megan, apexi, etc all require you to just buy another cartridge cause they dont have the equip to rebuild (which is more money out of your pocket.)
If it's a street car, just stick with the twin tubes. The mono flex's have stiffer rates and monotube dampers usually have a harsher ride. Though a mono tube construction apparently has better valving (have yet to see empirical data to prove that fact.)

Bumping an old thread. I've had Mono Flex co's on my street car for 30k miles. Harsh ride, yes, but they've been very good. They don't creak, etc. Robust, strong. I have camber plates as well.
