HKS vs KW vs Tein street use
With all the threads involving this topic I want to clarify that this thread was opened to assist me decide in my situation. I live on a pothole infested island (Malta) where the streets are not that good. We don't have any tracks here so suspension will be used for road use mostly fast road use. Budget is around 1500 euros. Car is Evo VII and is currently running on Tein lowering springs with stock shocks running like a go-cart, horribly.
I was between Tein Flex Z, HKS Hypermax IV GT and KW V3. What do you recommend all in all?
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't have my mind at rest buying used Ohlins, even though I know they're the best out there but I'm not confident in buying such parts in a used condition. But thanks for the heads up.

I have experienced swift progressive springs in an VIII with the Eibach/Bilstein combo, and alhough I have to say it's very comfy, I thought it was too much comfy with some body roll for my liking. One has to consider that currently I have a crazy stiff setup which I feel is very unsafe apart from very unpleasant to drive. Having experienced the old and discontinued TEIN control master - type flex, which many feel TEIN are stiff for bumpy roads, I had already felt it was extremely more comfortable than mine. So anything equal or over and above that which still falls under my budget is acceptable.

I would recommend a spring/strut combo... like MinusPrevious said, Bilsteins wth GTWorx or Swifts. Bilsteins/GTWorx for a bit more ground clearance for the bad roads. Swifts sit a bit lower than GTWorx so if you want a bit lower look then get those. For the price you are going to pay and long term reliability, a set of Bilstein/GTWorx is far better option. Ohlins while no doubt are better than any of the other mentioned coils, are far more expensive. Even used... and if they are used you will have to get them revalved at some point like any other coil out there.
You can buy 3 sets of Billy/GTWorx for the price of Ohlins R&T
If coils are something you MUST have, then look at Fortune Autos... MinusPrevious I believe runs them on his car. I am planning on buying a set of their 500 series after doing some research, I feel they are the best bang for the buck coil out there.
good luck and post a pic of that JDM 7

Have loads of photos of it. In fact I made a video out of them including the condition of the under of the car, engine bay etc. Here it is if you want to take a look at it:

If I were to go back to coils, I would have no problem using the Eibach Pro kit part no. # 6041.140 (1" drop front & rear)
The spring rate is very modest

They are coming up as a spring kit. In the meantime I found these used Ohlins for 1550 euros. What do you think?

Regarding those Ohlins, find out what the spring rates are. If the rates are not too high, that might be a good choice They look like their in good shape!
