I would pick a dry day. The brake system will have to dissipate any water before they can generate any friction.

Important: " to optimize the performance and the life of both brake pads and discs, during the bedding-in period heat in the braking system should be built up progessively."

I hope this helps.
I just put on a set of DS2500's this weekend. I followed the printed bedding in directions as listed in the directions (as quoted from Bogies post). I also transferred the metal and the fiber shims from the back of the Brembo pads over to the Ferodo's.

My brakes do not squeal at all.

When I hear people say things like this, I suddenly remember why I moved away from MD/VA.... The crappy winter and rainy spring is enough to make a person want to kill themselves. It's sunny and 75 here in CA. I got sunburned over the weekend.

It's still a bit cool in Chicagoland--low 40s, but, a warming is in the forecast; moreover, it hasn't rained in nearly 2 weeks. Just in time for my first track event this weekend.

My car is on stands presently--fluids a'draining. After I drain the fluids, I am going to install my pads. 60 and sunny today.

FWIW, I installed a set of DS2500's yesterday using only the Brembo non-metallic backing shims (no angled metal shim thingies), and bedded in the pads according to the instructions. They feel pretty good in street use, and don't squeak.

Did you bed them in as specified in the instructions? I think they state ~25 moderate stops to gradually build heat in the pads.

How bad is the squeal. Our stock pads were emitting slight squeals up until I swapped them last week. The Hawk HP Plus pads we used last summer were so loud the squeal literally startled people off their bikes.
