Intermittent steering wheel angle.... **Solved**

It seems that once I make a left hand turn the steering wheel will stay cocked about 15-20* to the left, even though the car still tracks straight. After driving straight for a bit or whatever mystery parameter is met it will return to normal, and yet the car will still track straight... I am totally stumped and have searched for hours looking for an answer to this issue!

Someone please help, lol.

car is a 2006 MR with PRIME coilovers (unknown mileage on them). The drivers side height adjustment collar was loose and allowed some lateral play in the body of the coilover but that has been fixed and the steering wheel issue remains.

the car was also recently aligned probably less then 3,000 miles ago, no reason it should be out of alignment.

I have access to a lift and was under the car grabbing/shaking every component I could that was related to steering/suspension and it all seems bolted up snug.

I've never had intermittent alignment issues but I have had a rear toe bolt slip while racing and my steering wheel was probably 10° off center afterward.

I had it checked out by firestone yesterday, and sure enough its the steering rack leaking fluid and the bushings are shot. I ordered a $600 remanned one from Autozone so we will see how that goes. I went ahead and ordered the Whiteline steering stabilizer bushings since the rack will be out anyway. Between a new rack and stiffer bushings it should feel like a brand new car, lol.
