Vr te37sl
So I had a track incident that damaged 2 of my Volk Rays TE37SLs in 18x9.5 +22 (one was damaged lip and barrel, other one was damaged lip). To run down, maybe I have 1 repairable wheel, 1 unrepairable wheel and 2 more good wheels.
Right now, I'm running a different set but would like to use the TE37SLs again.
I found a seller local to me that has a used PAIR of TE37SLs in 18x10.5 +15. I did my reading and so far what I surmise regarding staggered fitment is that there are mixed opinions on these... one party says it'll ruin the TCase as there will be incremental differences still; the other party says it'll improve track performance via oversteer and TCase will be OK as long as the overall circumference remains the same. I plan to do 265/35/18 all around with the 18x10.5 in front & my 18x9.5 in rear, especially since I track my Evo (although street used still 80% of the time). To fit the 10.5-wide +15 wheel up front, I plan to get ChargeSpeed wide fenders or Varis wide fenders. To fit the 9.5-wide +22 in the rear, I plan to get a proper fender roll and bumper bolt relocate, if necessary.
Wheel and suspension veterans, I would like to hear your opinion on this plan. Thank you.

Replacing your damaged TE37SL wheels with a staggered setup of 18x10.5 +15 in the front and 18x9.5 +22 in the rear can indeed offer different handling characteristics and visual appeal. However, there are a few factors to consider before proceeding with this setup.
1. Staggered fitment: Staggered wheel setups can impact the handling balance of the vehicle. With wider wheels and a lower offset in the front (+15), you may experience increased front-end grip and potentially more oversteer characteristics. This can enhance track performance and cornering ability but might lead to a less balanced feel on the street. It's important to be aware of these handling changes and adjust your driving accordingly.
2. Tire size and clearance: Running 265/35/18 tires on both the 18x10.5 and 18x9.5 wheels should provide a relatively consistent overall circumference. This is crucial to maintain proper speedometer accuracy and to ensure the drivetrain, including the TCase, remains unaffected. However, it's important to consider tire clearance with your chosen fender modifications and ensure that the tires fit within the fender wells without rubbing or causing any clearance issues, especially during suspension compression or steering lock.
3. Fender modifications: Installing ChargeSpeed or Varis wide fenders can provide the necessary clearance for the wider wheels. It's important to choose reputable brands and ensure proper installation to maintain the structural integrity and aesthetics of your Evo. Additionally, consider any local regulations or laws regarding fender modifications, as they can vary by jurisdiction.
4. Suspension setup: The wheel and tire combination, along with the fender modifications, may require adjustments to your suspension setup. It's crucial to ensure proper alignment and suspension settings to optimize handling, tire wear, and overall performance. Consulting with a knowledgeable suspension specialist or experienced tuner can help ensure proper setup and adjustments for your specific goals and driving conditions.
Ultimately, your plan of using the staggered TE37SL setup with proper fender modifications and tire sizing can be a viable option. However, it's essential to thoroughly research and consider the implications on handling, clearance, drivetrain components, and overall drivability. Seeking advice from experienced Evo enthusiasts or consulting with professionals who specialize in wheel fitment and suspension setups can provide valuable insights and guidance specific to your vehicle.
