Question Question on fitment for TE-37

Hey I found a great deal on a set of TE-37's for my EVO and just need to know how well you guys think they'll fit and future tire options.

Size is 18x7.5 +40, current tires are 225-40. I realize that the rim is 1/2" smaller and the tires are 10mm shorter, but I know I'll run those till they burn up and go with some better tires. However with the disadvantage of losing 1/2" what is the largest tire I can get away with?

Only suspension mods are an Eibach Pro-Kit. Thanks a ton guys!

I have 18x8.5 +40mm offset TE 37 that came off my old car and it requires a 3mm spacer to fit...i don't have them on any more. I don't know what size spacer it will require to fit a 18x7.5, but i feel it's going to be a lot more than a 3mm. Also why do you want to go with a 7.5 wide wheel when the stock ones are 8? I'm not a 100% sure, but I think the smaller width will affect your handling...ie corner speeds etc. Do what you think is best, but I wouldn't recommend it esp when the tire size is small too. Hope this helps. I'm a little biased too as I don't like running spacers!!!

I'm mainly considering it because of the deal. So you're saying they won't fit without spacers? Anyone else want to chime in on that? I know the stocks are 17x8 +38 and i was hoping the +40 and 7.5 width would cancel out? These are going to be my street wheels. Using stockers for the track.

Nope don't think it's going to work especially with only a 7.5 inch rim.
