Pennie TEst Brake pads

Got a quick Q.

Penny test on Brake pads. Is it the til the head of lincoln or the width of the penny?

I've only heard of the pennie test on tire tread depth.

The distance from the edge of the penny to the top of Lincoln's head is about 1/16" an inch. It can be used as a quick visual reference for any depth that you're trying to gauge.

IMO, I'd say that a 1/16" of brake pad left is probably pushing it and should probably be replaced as soon as possible.
