Replacement tires?

I am about to replace my Advan's. I am wondering about a good substitute for them. I am willing to sacrifice some grip for overall longevity and quietness. Checked into the new Michelin Ps2 but it's not yet available in our size. Any suggestions? Toyo? Normal Pilot Sport?

I'm running YOKO AVS E100. They're good. Holds really well, goes over flood of water without a slip (when the tires hot).

It's cheaper than stock.

Continental extreme is fairely good. Michellin, if you got the $$$$.

Falken 512 is good, but sucks on water.

In my opinion the ES-100 is only good as a winter tire on the Evo in mild climates, such as a nothern california winter. If you are even a slightly aggressive driver the tire sucks as a summer tire, squirms all over the place and has a very soft sidewall.

Percy, good info. I am in MN so I will be switching to real winters. I am speaking of a summer tire that fits the bill. Also, How important is staying with the same size as the stock tire? Taller or lower?

I've been on my ES100's for 10,000 miles and have been very impressed. They are a very inexpensive tire, and contrary to what some others have said, do handle pretty well. The ride is much smoother than the advans too.

The Avon Tech M500 may be an inexpensive alternative..

e100 isn't a winter tire, but it's quiet and handles well.

No complaints. I live in GA. It never snows or hardly cold.

I'm about to get new tires and will likely order the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position. My local Costo has a pretty good sale on them (less than $750 for 4).

I had Toyo T1-S 235/45/17s (Treadwear 280, Traction AA, Temp A) installed yeasterday... They ended up costing me $702 ($162 a tire) on the car, out the door. So far all I can say is they ride much smoother than the Advans... quiet. From what I've read, heard, etc, they should have a stiffer sidewall than most of the other tires everyone is talking about. As for right now, they are slick like any new tire without any real wear on them. I'll report more when I get the casing wore off.
