Brembo brake Paint question

One of my Brembo brake calipers has started pealing some paint off from it. This is not from neglect when mountinng the wheels, but it is outright peeling off from the caliper. Any ideas for this, is it covered under warranty? I searched before I posted but found nothing.

There is a TSB for this (don't have the number sorry). My friend had his replaced under warranty. The clear coat is known to come off around the bleader nipple. Let mitsu stress it. On my friend's car they just replaced all the calipers for free.

Good luck!

Yeah, I would try the dealer as well. The Brembos on my Infiniti got a bad chip and I was told by Brembo that they do not sell any kind of touch-up paint. Luckily I found a Honda Civic color that matched perfectly. Yours look more like a warranty issue though.

I called the dealer and they said there was not a TSB about it, although they would look at them to see if they could be replaced.

Hey Neal,
That paint you bought would it of been capable to handle the high-high of the Brembo brakes? Check out the latest copy of Sport Compact Car for an awesome writeup and test oft he EVO brakes.

The chip was about the size of a pencil eraser. I've had to put paint on it about 3 times to fill the chip up, but it seems to hold the heat just fine. Hasn't flaked off yet. I saw that article!! It was very good.

I was unable to find a bullitin about this issue. If anyone ever wants to look up bullitins recalls or anything else I highly recommend https://mycarstats.com. Register and you can look up any car.

From what I've heard the red caliper paint we carry is quite close to the stock Brembo color. You would have enough to touch yours up and paint a full set of brakes on another car. I was able to put 3 coats on all four calipers and still had some left.

Its a problem on the 5,6,7,8s... all the brembo clad evos. The clearcoat used after power-coating the calipers... just can't take the heat!

Me as well. I will check with my dealer to see what they say and get back to this thread. I hope they fix it. I have some new rims coming soon that I need my car top notch for.

Mine is too. All 4 corners. The service dept rep told me that if there were no clear signs of neglect or misuse (hit it with a hammer, etc) that they would replace them. I am waiting on the Service Manager to OK it and then they will look at the calipers to determine if it is my fault or factory fault. I am printing out this topic to show many people are having same problem.
