Actually, in Sacramento, where I live, Northern California, the winters are very mild, and it's a great rain tire. In my opinion that's all it's good for, and it performed that role very well last winter. Otherwise, it sucks, and as soon as the less rainy weather hit's, I change them out. It never gets cold enough to harden the compound.

Jesus christ, you tried all those tires on an Evo... Wow.

Sorry, couldn't help it.

I'm really happy with the T1-S in OE size. They are a half notch under the A046 in ultimate grip, but a good notch down on response due to a slightly softer sidewall. They also squeel, which I really don't like. I didn't go with the ES100s due to the many dissatisfied reports of them being too soft. I'm not apposed to trying them for my next set though... esp. since everyone’s opinions are very subjective... including mine.

I'm always skeptical of any reviews of tires that don't include tire pressures, air temps, and weather conditions..

I am currently battling with Mitsubishi North America to get my money back for the EVS 100's due to these reasons...I think the A046's would have held up better if the suspension would have been set up correctly from the factory. The tread wear pattern on mine were horrible, the entire inner treads were gone!!
What problems are your talking about exactly? I am just curious if this is something affecting all of us.

I have the T1-S and Im very pleased with them in rainy wet weather however dry weather they suck compared to stock. they have a very weak sidewall and they dont' stick nearly as well. but in the rain they cut through puddles awesome and hold the car to the road very well for wet conditions
Overall T1-S great winter tire for the Evo not so good for track or performance.

ES100s are nice tires. Nothing is going to compare to the stock tires. They are borderline R compounds. Out of all the tires mentioned, the ES100s are undisputedly the best bang for the buck. If you must have performance, buy another set of stockers.

I tried the ES-100's for one week before I went back and put on Kuhmo MX's. The ES-100's sidewalls were simply too soft for my liking and they did squeal like a bunch of pigs when pushed. So far I have liked the MX's MUCH better then I liked the ES-100's, though not as much as the Advans. A hell of a lot closer to the Advans then the Es' were. I run 38 front, and 40 rear.

Got me a set of ES 100's not too long ago in 255/40/17. Neal was even cool enough to call me and make sure I really wanted to go that big and I was kinda worried but after putting them on the car they are awesome, great handling for the price, and much better rain performance. Not to mention they last about 75% longer.

Well,

It all depends on your driving style. But for summer spirited driving, the turn-in is horrible. Absolutely horrible, and thre tires magnify understeeer disproportionately, which is something you do NOT need more of in the Evo.
