Does any one make a rotor with an alluminum center for the evo?
I took mine off to paint the center part that rusts and noticed it is as heavy as the wheel and tire ( Well... Almost).
I think some lighter rotors would help with some unsprung wieght and some more power to the ground.

Thanks, John

Project Mu, Endless and Baer to name a few. I'm sure Brembo, AP, and Wilwood do as well. Just hard to find the AP stuff.

Well, NOPI sells mostly crap anyway. Check out Z1Auto.com, bulletproofautomotive.com, etc. Lots of better vendors have the good brake kits.

You can call Stasis Engineering too [http://www.stasisengineering.com]. You have to ask for the Evo application as it's not listed on their website. I have a set of their two piece rotors. They save 10 lbs per disc. They consist of Stasis aluminum hats and Alcon rotor discs. I'm happy with them so far. I'll get them on the track later in October.

wasn't there an article on how you actually want some weight in your rotors?

You can get the alcon/stasis pieces from vividracing, I think; but they are listed for a lot of money. But on the plus side, if the rotors wear out, you can replace the outer disc for a lot cheaper.

you want light rotors... unsprung weight. also less mass means faster response... not necessarily unsprung weight factor... more of a physics less inertia factor.

IIRC the stasis rotors are rather pricy...over $800 for the fronts If memory serves me. But top notch quality and very light. Great for a track car.

I called Stoptech some time ago re: making replacement rotors for the stock brembo calipers. They are doing it, but they will be one piece and nearly as heavy as the stockers. To get the weight advantage (and 2 pc rotors) you have to upgrade to the full kit. In my mind, it's not worth upgrading just the rotors to 2 piece unless you upgrade the whole brake system.
