Well, the 1/4 mile times and trap speeds don't accurately represent how fast the X really is in real world scenarios because the gearing is terrible for the strip; you have to shift into 5th gear right before the 1/4 mile mark and that kills the times. In the road racing or on the street this is inconsequential, though.Originally Posted by spdracerut
The test was done at Cal Speedway/Fontana/Autoclub Speedway; it's notorious for being slow. Not to mention, it was in the middle of August with temps most likely hovering above 100F. I don't have the article in front of me, but I think the only car that trapped faster in the USCC competition was the Evo VIII. I want to say the modded GTR only trapped 116, I could be wrong though... someone look it up!

Shifting into fifth would probably kill ET. Its the low mph for whp that i'm questioning. Trap speed tells all about whp and i'm sure Eric drove the **** out of it.Originally Posted by STi2EvoX

You have it the other way around. You can let off the gas in the last 100 ft and it wont affect the E.T. as much as it will the mph.

It was actually at the k&n dyno facilities.
I thought they only allowed pump gas in the ultimate street car challenge? Have they changed the rules or am I just mistaken on this? Originally Posted by Chris@AMS

I guess. Traveling at such speed, i'm sure you didn't lose much. The ET on your run was great, its just the low trap speed that doesn't reflect 490whp one bit even with the fifth gear shift.

This test was done at the end of the shutdown area running uphill to the finish line, which would affect mph. It was also done with some sort of radar gun, so its accuracy is always an issue.

That certainly makes a lot of sense. Originally Posted by EricJ@AMS

Price? Kit options?
I am seriously holding out to get one of these and want to plan my future mods accordingly.

I'm still wondering why you guys are using an MBC when you tune with ecutek. Better boost control maybe?

Nothing just yet. We hope to have the kit launched just after the new year. We do plan on offering the GT3076R, GT35R and AMS GT850R.Originally Posted by Viciouz

Didn't the AMS Evo also have the fastest lap time on the Streets of Willow Springs in the Sport Compact challenge? A time of around 1:24?

Correct me if I'm wrong but , I believe they had the second fastest. Fastest one was the 350z i thought. Probably because it had much more suspension work done to it...

The stock solenoids can't achieve the level of boost that we are trying to run. 26-29 psi.Originally Posted by BigT
