AMS's USCC winning EVO X on a Prototype 30R kit

Since we have won the Sport Compact Car - Ultimate Street Car Challenge, and it is now public knowledge, I thought I would post up the numbers that this beast was putting down for the duration of this grueling competition.

For more info on AMS's USCC win go Here

This Car had the following on it before it left for the challenge:

AMS EVO X Cold Air Intake
AMS Upper Intercooler Pipe
AMS Front Mount Intercooler
AMS Prototype O2 housing
AMS Manual Boost Controller
AMS Fuel Surge tank system
AMS Fuel Rail
AMS Exhaust System WITH 3" CATALYTIC CONVERTER
RC 780cc Injectors

The car ran flawlessly for the entire event at this same horsepower level the entire time, on the completely stock longblock! They dyno'd it on a Mustang dyno out there at the event too. Strangely, it put down 481whp...

That is 27psi at redline. I think she started off around the 30psi range with a manual boost controller on duty and a 24psi wastegate spring.

Chris, Is there a Q&D method to calculate what the peak whp would be on pump, 93 Oct?

Later, Ken
AMS Intake&Exhaust
Iveytune (322 all around)
Robispec K&W

400whp should be easily attainable. Martin just re-tuned our EVO X in california for another event, and on 91oct I believe it checked in at 400whp. This was a different kit, and a different turbo. We are still doing real world testing to determine the best combination for our customers

So was I. K&N, the filter company, has a Mustang Dyno on hand at their test facilities.

What was the car being tuned with? Why the MBC? Its very interesting to see nearly 490whp on a mustang dyno, but only a 118mph trap speed. My 3300lb 97 GSX trapped 118 with 390whp.

Please don't think I'm knocking the car down. You guys built a great car and hopefully I can get my 3 week old X up there one day. Its amazing how the power keeps climbing even on stock cams/intake manifold up to about 7500rpm.

Chris must have gotten some incorrect info somewhere. K&N has a 48" roller awd dynojet and a Superflow dyno. The X was dynod on the 248C Dynojet with the 2nd roller.

EDIT: looks like AMS cleared it up. K&N's dyno is a dyno jet.

The test was done at Cal Speedway/Fontana/Autoclub Speedway; it's notorious for being slow. Not to mention, it was in the middle of August with temps most likely hovering above 100F. I don't have the article in front of me, but I think the only car that trapped faster in the USCC competition was the Evo VIII. I want to say the modded GTR only trapped 116, I could be wrong though... someone look it up!
