Cobb Stg 1 map Vs Custom Tune

Hello All,

I recently bought the Cobb AP and used their Stage 1 Az stock map. The car was a whole new Beast. I wanted to see how much could benefit from a custom tune. So I got on the horn with a well known tuner and here are the results.

The Cobb map is good and Im sure I picked up 30-40 Hp but I didnt a baseline so I dont know for sure.

I have the following mods:

Cobb AP
HKS filter
"Pill"
Custom Tune
91 Pump gas

Im not sure about all the technical stuff like correction factor and all that but here is the graph.

The outcome was 290 HP 295 TQ

My car was flashed with their beta stage 2 shelf map then custom tuned. My car picked up another 30hp from custom tune. So is one of these the shelf map and one of them a custom tune? Congrats on the gains though. It feels great Im sure.

Looks like the both maps still run pretty rich and your boost still tapers a lot. The boost taper looks like mine did stock. Looks like you still have some power to be made.

Yeah the red is the shelf map and blue is the custom tune.

so HKS filter did not cause any performance issue with stage 1 Cobb AP..
I was worried cause I'll be getting HKS racing suction kit in few weeks

nice number, but it does seem like your boost is tapering a little more than it should. If I where you I would try the wastegate mod. It is free and will help you hold a dew more psi up top. I am not tuned, but turned my wastegate 3.5 times and I tapper around 18.5-19.5 at red line.

you'll probably be fine with the suction pipe, but he is fine because he had a custom tune with the AP.

You can just get a boost pill. Its cheap and works. My car peaks at 27 and tapers to 21. On my less aggressive map it peaks at 24 and tapers to 21

I have the pill listed under the mods. I think once I do exhaust I'll do a forged WGA.

It seems most people taper 6-7 psi tho...

Hmm, Its strange your tapers so much then. Once it was on my car really held good boost.
