EVOX, more parts, more power

Nice power from a build today. The customer has slowly been adding more and more parts. The last time the car was in it got the Blouch turbo, this time it was the cam upgrade.

The car belongs to Matt, EVOX. Mod list:

BR offroad pipe
BR True Dual catback
BR manual boost controller
RC 780 cc injectors
BR upper and lower i/c pipe kit
BR Race FMIC
BR custom tune
BR air filter kit
Blouch Dominator 2.0 turbo
Cosworth MX1 cams

385 whp and 331 ft lbs of torque. Car feels nasty fast.

Enjoy the dyno sheet:

Thanks Hybrid. As soon as these tracks get opened up we should start seeing some very fast EVO X's.

David,

Has this car been tuned using ECUTek or ECUFlash?

How is the stock fuel pump holding up? I have a good friend who is running the dominator 2 and was tuned via ECUFlash. The car is now in need of a larger fuel pump or at least that is what was concluded. The car consistently would go slightly lean starting around 7300 RPMs not matter how much fuel you were throwing in. For example the car would run 11.3-11.5 AFRs until 7300 RPMs at which time it would jump to 12.1-12.2 AFR’s and lose a little power. I am curious to see if you believe this is a fuel pump issue. I have noticed that the few cars you have posted (yours and this one) have not had fuel pumps and are making great power.

Any insight would be appreciated.

And to keep this slightly on-topic (sorry) Congrats to Buschur and Matt for the great results! Keep up the good work.

~Ryan

I like how the Torque peak is only like 300-400 RPM's later than a stock turbo dyno plot, seems like a very responsive turbo! Over 310 HP by 5k compared to my modded X barely getting over 250 HP at the same RPM. Revving out the gears between 5000-7500 RPM must feel awesome in that car.

It may be pretty close to the limits of the stock fuel pump, now if someone could just sell a Drop in pump that isn't quite as loud as the Walbro for a price under the Walbro + adapater kit/fuel filter combo.

Also, do you think it would keep making power like the other car you did like this up top? This graph stops at ~7400, if revved to 7800 looks like it'd be closer to 400whp

Thanks alot David for all the time you have invested in this car for me. The dyno graph looks sick. It has come along way in almost a year since I bought it.

You have an awsome team over there and have yet to let me down. Thanks again for the quality power producing parts. I will be back as soon as you come out with some more goodies and a clutch upgrade

By the way I think the dyno sheet says 336TQ??

-Matt

Before the cams I was making 344whp and 302TQ on 93octane.

On this new tune with the cams i am also running 93.

great gains; 40whp from cams + tune sounds sick... this combination seems like the best compremise on pump gas for a fun everyday car at the moment

from your sig, looks like the tune was done at 25psi boost. Got a quick question:
are you still running the stock clutch / if so how is it holding up / if its not stock which one?

Enjoy your car with the new found power
